What you study
Anatomy and physiology, nursing theory and practice, pharmacology, adult, child and community nursing, and long clinical placements in hospitals and care homes. EU rules for general care nurses set a minimum amount of clinical training, which is why the programmes take three and a half to four years.

Admission for Indian students
Class 12 with biology and chemistry, usually 60% or more. Colleges admit with B1–B2 English and an interview; Vilnius University asks for IELTS 6.5. GNM diploma holders apply on their Class 12 results; prior nursing study does not shorten the programme automatically.
Language and licensing
This is the key point for Indian students. The degree is in English, but nursing licences in Lithuania and most of the EU require the local language. If your goal is to work as a nurse in Europe, budget time for Lithuanian (or German, if you plan to move to Germany) during your studies. See language courses.
Recognition in India
Nursing in India is regulated by the Indian Nursing Council and state nursing councils, which have their own rules for foreign-trained nurses. Check them before enrolling if you plan to return.
