English preparation

  • KTU: Intensive English language preparatory course, half a year, ₹74,400 (€700).
  • Vilnius Business College: Academic English Preparatory Programme, one semester, ₹1.8 lakh (€1,700).
  • SMK: English Foundation, one year, ₹3.4 lakh (€3,200).
  • MRU: preparatory English for applicants below B2.

Before relying on a preparatory course, check with the university whether it issues the residence permit for it and how you move into the degree afterwards.

Learning Lithuanian

Universities offer Lithuanian as a foreign language, often as an elective in the first year; medical students need it most, for patient contact in the clinical years. Evening courses and online platforms help further.

Summer courses

Klaipėda University and SMK run summer Lithuanian language and culture courses in July; in 2026 the state scholarship for these courses was ₹1 lakh (€962). They are aimed at students already enrolled at a university, in Lithuania or abroad. Check the Study in Lithuania scholarship pages for the current call and eligible countries.
