The low-cost option
If your budget is the deciding factor, start here. Tuition at Šiauliai is ₹2.7 lakh (€2,500) a year for business and information programmes and ₹3.6 lakh (€3,400) for IT, engineering and nursing. Dormitory places cost ₹6,910–13,800 (€65–130) a month, and living costs in Šiauliai are well below Vilnius. A three-year degree here can cost less in total than two years at a university in the capital.
The trade-offs: Šiauliai is a small city with few English-speaking employers, the Indian community is tiny, and there is no university-level research. Students who do well often move to Vilnius or Kaunas for a master's or a job.
