Creative Fields in Lithuania for Indian Students: Game Design, Architecture and Design Programmes

Creative programmes in English are fewer in Lithuania than engineering or business, but some are good value: game development at three institutions from ₹4 lakh (€3,800) a year, five-year architecture at KTU and VILNIUS TECH, and fashion, photography and music at colleges and VMU.

Architecture

Architecture is a five-year integrated programme in Lithuania, leading directly to a master's-level qualification. KTU charges ₹6 lakh (€5,676) a year and VILNIUS TECH ₹6.6 lakh (€6,250). Both expect strong mathematics, and VILNIUS TECH also sets an entrance test for architecture applicants.

Design, media and music

  • Fashion and photography: Kauno kolegija (Fashion Design, Photography, ₹5 lakh (€4,680) a year); KTU (Fashion Engineering, Fashion Innovation Technologies).
  • Multimedia and digital design: VILNIUS TECH (Multimedia Design), MRU (Digital Media Design), Kauno kolegija (Multimedia Technology), SMK (Video Production and Media).
  • Music and performance: VMU (Music Production, Performing Arts, about ₹10 lakh (€9,600) a year) and VIKO (Popular Music, ₹10 lakh (€9,500)).

Careers

Vilnius has a small but international game and animation scene and a large number of digital agencies; portfolios matter more than degrees. Architects need local registration to practise, in Lithuania as in India, so check Council of Architecture rules if you plan to return.
