Who MRU suits

MRU grew from a police and law academy into a university of social sciences, and law is still its strongest field. Its English programmes cover international and EU law, LegalTech and mediation, cybersecurity management, business and marketing, psychology and two creative degrees, Game Development and Digital Animation and Digital Media Design.

It is a good fit if you want a three-year or three-and-a-half-year bachelor's in Vilnius at ₹3.5 lakh (€3,250) a year, or a one-year LL.M. after an Indian LL.B. It is not the place for a master's if you hold a three-year Indian degree: MRU will not accept it.

Paying for MRU

You pay the first year's tuition in full to confirm your place; from the second year, tuition is paid per semester. Bachelor's programmes cost ₹3.5 lakh (€3,250) or ₹4.5 lakh (€4,200) a year, master's mostly ₹5 lakh (€4,690). India is not among the countries eligible for MRU's full tuition waivers, so plan to pay the full fee.

Housing: the Vilnius Student House charges from ₹12,800 (€120) a month for a place in a triple room to ₹58,400 (€550) for a renovated single with a kitchen. A typical single costs ₹26,600–31,900 (€250–300) and a place in a double ₹13,800–15,900 (€130–150). There is a ₹10,600 (€100) reservation fee.

Requirements for applicants from India

MRU publishes separate rules for Indian documents:

  • Bachelor's: Class 10 certificate and apostilled Class 12 certificate with mark sheets. Engineering diplomas after Class 10 do not give access.
  • Master's: apostilled degree and consolidated mark sheet covering at least four years. A three-year BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA or BSc (except BSc Honours) is not accepted.
  • English: B2 level with IELTS 5.5–6.5, TOEFL iBT 72–94 or Duolingo 100–125, or MRU's free online test.
  • Motivation letter: MRU checks it with AI-detection software, so write it yourself.

If you finished school or college some years ago, read study gap before applying. The full process is in our admission guide.

Jobs after MRU

Law graduates who want to practise in Lithuania need Lithuanian; the English LL.M. programmes are aimed at international firms, compliance and EU institutions. Business, marketing and cybersecurity-management graduates compete for English-speaking roles in Vilnius. Game development and digital media graduates can work for Vilnius game and animation studios, a small but international scene. See after graduation.

Campus

MRU's main building is on Ateities Street in the north of Vilnius, close to the student house. The city centre is about 20 minutes away by bus. Read studying in Vilnius.
