A university for sport and health
LSU began in 1934 as the Higher Courses of Physical Education in Kaunas and has carried its present name since 2012. Basketball is close to a national religion in Lithuania, and LSU has trained many of the country's coaches; its international master's in basketball coaching and management is the programme most foreign students know it for.
For Indian students, LSU is worth a look in three cases: you want physiotherapy in English at an EU university; you are a coach, athlete or PE teacher looking for a master's; or you want to work in sports management or tourism.

LSU's FAQ gives the dormitory rent as ₹63,800 (€600) a semester, about ₹12,800 (€120) a month; the page is undated, so confirm the current rate.
Scholarships
LSU does not publish a scholarship for non-EU students. The low master's fees are the main saving. See our scholarships page for other routes.
Where graduates work
Coaching and sports-science graduates work for clubs, academies, federations and fitness businesses, in Lithuania and abroad; a coaching master's from LSU is a strong line on the CV of a coach going back to India. Physiotherapists who want to treat patients in Lithuania need Lithuanian and a licence. In India, physiotherapists now come under the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions; check how a foreign degree is registered before you enrol.
