Which route is best for you
- You studied in an English-medium CBSE, ICSE or state-board school: try universities that accept a school confirmation (KTU, Klaipėda State UAS, SMK) or their own free test (KTU, MRU). You save the IELTS fee and weeks of waiting.
- You want Vilnius University, ISM or LCC: take IELTS or another listed test; they are stricter.
- Your English is around B1: look at Klaipėda State UAS, SMK, LSMU and Šiauliai, or take a preparatory course first.
Preparatory English courses
If your English is below the required level, some institutions run a preparatory semester or year: KTU's intensive English course (₹74,400 (€700) for half a year), Vilnius Business College's Academic English Preparatory Programme (₹1.8 lakh (€1,700) for a semester), SMK's English Foundation (₹3.4 lakh (€3,200) for a year) and MRU's preparatory English. See language courses. Check with the Migration Department whether a preparatory course alone qualifies you for a residence permit.
