MS in Lithuania for Indian Students: Is It Worth It? Fees, Universities and Jobs After the Degree

An MS in Lithuania costs a fraction of one in the UK or US and gives you an EU degree and a 12-month permit to look for work. Whether it is worth it depends on your field: for IT and data the case is strong, for general management much weaker.

Where to do an MS

  • KTU: most engineering and IT master's at ₹6 lakh (€5,641); every applicant is considered for a waiver.
  • VILNIUS TECH: AI, data, software, mechanical and civil at ₹6.9 lakh (€6,450); B.Tech/B.E. only for Indians; free with 80% marks.
  • Vilnius University: informatics, data science, software engineering, physics and life sciences at ₹6.4–6.9 lakh (€6,000–6,500).

The money

Two years of tuition at KTU come to about ₹12 lakh (€11,300); living costs for 21–24 months about ₹13–18 lakh (€12,000–17,000). You also need to show ₹9.3 lakh (€8,715) in funds for a permit filed in 2027 and pay the first year in advance.

Jobs

IT and data graduates have the best chance of an English-speaking job in Vilnius or Kaunas. Engineering graduates do better with some Lithuanian. During the master's you can work up to 40 hours a week under the 2026 rules, which makes internships easier. After graduation, a 12-month permit lets you look for work; see after graduation.

Our view

For a B.Tech graduate aiming at software, data or AI, an MS in Lithuania is good value. For a three-year B.Com graduate aiming at "management", check job prospects carefully first, and look at finance or logistics instead.
