Where Lithuania is stronger
- Longer job search: 12 months after graduation against Poland's 9.
- Clear, published fees: every Lithuanian institution lists non-EU tuition in the national catalogue; in Poland fees vary widely and change with each university.
- Smaller, calmer cities with cheap dorms, especially Kaunas and Šiauliai.
Where Poland is stronger
- Choice: far more universities and English programmes, including many more medical schools than Lithuania's two.
- Work flexibility: no weekly hour cap for students at public universities and those on the government's approved list.
- Bigger job market: Warsaw, Kraków and Wrocław have many international employers.
Our view
For MBBS, Poland gives more options; for engineering or IT on a tight budget with a clear path to a job-search permit, Lithuania is the simpler choice. Many of our students apply to both. For Poland, see our sister site Poland Study.
