When Germany is the better deal
For a strong B.Tech graduate aiming at an English-taught master's at a tuition-free public university, Germany is hard to beat: no fees, an 18-month job-search permit and salaries far above Lithuania's. The catch is competition for places, and the €11,904 blocked account that has to be in place before the visa.
When Lithuania is the better deal
- you want a bachelor's in English straight after Class 12: German public bachelor's programmes are mostly in German;
- your marks are good but not top: Lithuanian admission is less competitive;
- you need a lower up-front sum, or a faster, simpler admission process.
Our view
For a master's with strong marks: try Germany first and keep Lithuania as a reliable second option. For a bachelor's in English: Lithuania is the practical route.
